Veterans Aid & Attendance Program

The Veteran’s Administration has developed a Veteran’s Assistance Program for those in need of assisted living care.  These benefits are available to qualified veteran’s and their surviving spouses.

The following criteria are required for qualifications:

•       The applicant must have served at least 90 days in the military, with at least one of these days during wartime.
•       The applicant, if a surviving spouse, cannot have remarried.
•       The applicant cannot have more than $80,000 in liquid assets.

Benefits upon approval are as follows:

•       Veteran – approximately up to $1,788/month
•       Surviving Spouse – approximately up to $1,149/month
•       Veteran and Spouse – approximately up to $2,120/month
•       Dependent Spouse of Veteran – approximately up to $1,404/month

*** The applicant may also qualify for VA drug, vision, and hearing assistance.
